A Horses Words To The Rider

A HORSES WORDS TO THE RIDER

You used watch me as I flew,

Across the land,

Looking as though,

An Eagle couldn't touch me-

My feet barely touched the ground,

My mane and tail are filled with air,

You, on my back,

Tip your head back,

And cry,-

Because its been too long,

Since you've broken past your fear,

And gone to ride me,

Past a trot,-

Your fear disappeared,

When I taught you to trust me,

Because you learned,

Whatever I did,

It was for you,-

You used to stand on the ground,

To watch me move,

And admire my beauty,

Now you ride-

Fearless, now is you

When you ride

You go like the wind

We race together,

You and I

Forever And A Day

FOREVER AND A DAY

When you say you love me
Do you really mean it?
If we said our vows
Will you still love me
In forever and a day?

If I got ugly,
Will you still love me?
Forever and ever
As you say?

If we fight
And if you lose
Will you forgive me?
Because you said you'd love me
For forever and a day

If I die
Will you forgive me
And not be bitter towards me for going?
And love me forever and a day?

Forever and a day
Is all I need
To prove to you
That I love you for
Forever and a day too

Star Filled Sky

STAR FILLED SKY

Darkness falls,
The air gets damp,
The stars come out,
You and me,

Here,
Watching the stars,
As they appear,
One by one,

'Til it becomes,
A star filled sky,
We still watch and wait,
'Til we see the southern cross,

To us it shows,
That the world,
Still revolves around God,
And that he still is in control,-

Of the star filled sky,
And our lives,
Destiny's,
And our dreams

The Oak Tree

A sower went out to sow. The seeds he threw were oak seeds. Some fell among rocks. They sprung up and died, having no roots. Some landed on the path and they sprung up, but they died being crushed by people's feet. Some fell among the blackberry's, died choked, and from lack of sunshine.
Lastly there was some that fell among good soft ground. They sprung up, and grew. Many just wanting to grow didn't dig their roots deep enough into the ground. Others dig in deep.
Sometime along the way a great storm came and knocked many down who hadn't dug their roots deep enough.
There was others who had lived without a scratch. Now there had been many oaks who had being badly beaten by the storm, and who didn't have deep enough roots. Many who were beaten fell down broken. Many hung on by a thread. Others like me swayed in the balance. After the storm, I decided to straighten up and dig down deep and spread my roots wide. Others did not.
Many little storms followed. Yet I still hung in there. My roots were deep and spread. Then came the biggest storm I have ever behold. It tore my leaves from my branches, and it stripped the dirt from my top roots. It tore some of my big branches off, and broken bits from the big tree that was sheltering me slapped at me and tore off more of me. I refused to come down. I knew my roots would hold.
When the storm died down, I stood there weeping, my branches drooped. I hurt so bad I wasn't sure if I could stand straight again. After a few days of gently falling rain, and soft sweet sunshine I noticed my branches seemed to come up by themselves.
When I stopped thinking about me I noticed many oaks had come down. Mostly the ones who had not dug their roots in deep. I felt sad. I wished they had thought to do what I had done.
Autumn followed and I was quite surprised to see my leaves curl up and die. They were so pretty, but yet they were dead. I watched with sadness as they dropped off, Or blew away in the warm Autumn breeze.
Not long after that some very cold days followed. The older oaks called it Winter. It was always cold, and the wind seemed to blow all the time. The days seemed so dreary and long. I hardly ever saw the sun. I hardly ever saw the grass. It was mud, snow, rain, hail, and mist.
Finally after that long dreary Winter, came spring. Flowers sprung up everywhere, and my leaves grew anew again. I saw the warm sunshine, and the days seemed to fly by. I loved life. My roots were buried deep underneath the ground, and they were spread wide. No storms could put me over. No longer. Not ever.

Loving Him

LOVING HIM

When you look outside the window,
Do you see what i see?
The beauty that God created,
The sunshine that God makes to shine every day

Do you love Him the way I do?
With my whole heart,
With no more room for anything else?
Do you sing like i do?
With your whole heart, sparing none?

Do you hear what He tells me?
'While I'm here with you,
I won't ever change my mind about you,
I won't ever stop loving you,-

If I ever have a chance,
To go back to the cross,
I would still do it all over again for you
Because I love you'

Broken

BROKEN

When you look at me
What do you see?
Do you see me like I do?
Broken?

Do you spend your days like me?
Wondering when the pain will ever end?
Do you spend hours wishing you weren't here?
Nighttimes crying?

Every time you walk past me
Do you wonder if I can't look at you for fear?
Or do you look inside
Where I can't tell you about?

Where my skin covers my broken heart
Where my hair that covers the hurt thoughts
Do you see the dried tear tracks
Where I cried alone last night?

Do you feel the pain
Of my heart being broken?
Do you see the scars
That haven't healed?

Can't you see?
I'm broken
Places to worn to stitch back up
Eyes too dry to cry no more

And yet
I still hurt
Deep, deep down inside
From the scars that somebody I loved gave me

Two Broken Hearts - part two

I woke up with a jerk. i had fallen asleep on my bed again. I looked at my clock and realized i must have slept for sixteen hours. I had never slept that long before. It was now eight o'clock in the morning.
Suddenly i heard the car start up in the garage next door. I heard i back down the drive then i got up and I watched Wendy drive down the drive. She was going to town to buy some groceries. Again. With me here they always seemed to be needing something. I know Gerry was working, as always.
Wendy had being gone half an hour and already i was bored. I got up from my bed and got dressed, then i started dusting. I hated dusting. Then i vacuumed the carpet, and mopped and polished the wooden floors.
Still i was bored. My mind wandered. That horse out in the stables. The one Gerry and Wendy brought yesterday. I wondered what it was doing.
It was used to being outside so it must be bored stiff, i decided. I quietly slipped outside to the stables. There was two stables, and one big hay shed, empty. I walked to the nearest stable.
The brown pony was standing there, head hanging and ears dropped sideways. I felt kinda sorry for him. He didn't like humans, and i didn't want another horse. Especially not one that looked like Shadow.
I pulled up a overturned metal bucket and sat on it, and i watched him. To my surprise, he watched me back. Not with interest. But with a dull dispirited look. It was like he expected me to hurt him, in some way.
I watched him for ages. Time seemed to slide by, and i heard the car pull up. I quickly jumped up making my pail clatter to the ground. The pony started jumping back to the back of his stall. I ran into my room and shut the door. I picked up my book and pretended to read. But all i could see was that pony's face, when i startled him. His eyes were wide with fear, but his ears were pinned flat back as though he was angry.

“Dear?” Wendy's voice sounded at my door. “Are you in there?”

I put down my book, and opened the door. “Yeah, where did you think I'd be?”

Her face told me where. In with the pony bonding. Suddenly i hated that pony. I hated him for coming here and ruining Shadow's memory, and i hated him for having the same colour coat as Shadow.
Bitter emotions must have been running over my face because Wendy looked chastened.

“I'm sorry dear.” she said her eyes truly sorry. “I didn't mean anything by that i just-” she broke off.

I knew what she was going to say. That she just wanted to help me get over Shadow's death and start riding again.
But my face had cut her off. I knew what i looked like because i could see myself in my mirror next to the door. My eyes were little slits in my head, and my mouth was in a thin straight tight line, and all the veins were sticking out all over my neck. This meant i was either very angry and trying to keep my temper or it meant i was going to blow.
She didn't say anything, she just stood there with her eyes lowered. I pushed past her and i started to run. I ran all the way down to the back paddock right out to the little stream, that only Shadow and i knew about. It was right in the corner of the paddock, tucked away in the pines and brambles.
I had made a seat to place there, and which now wore a little brass plate saying, May you become a true Shadow, my dear friend. I rubbed my fingers over the brass plate. My fingers left little warm prints where i touched it.
I curled up on the chair, and sat there just listening to the soft water trickling through the rocks. Daylight fell fast and soon i was in the dark. My empty stomach betrayed me with a grumble. I knew i would have to eat soon, much to my disgust. I did not want to go back up to the house, at least not until tomorrow.
